Desktop barcode scanners
A desktop scanner sits on the counter and reads the barcode as soon as the product passes in front of it — no button to press and nothing to hold. That makes it the fastest choice for supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries and any till with a queue. POS Kosova offers desktop scanners from Henex and Honeywell, from compact models for a narrow counter to models for high scanning volume. We configure them for your system and service them in Prishtina.

Frequently asked questions
What is a desktop or hands-free scanner?
It is a scanner that sits on the counter and reads automatically when a barcode comes near. The cashier keeps both hands free for the products, so scanning goes faster.
Can I use a desktop scanner for large items too?
For heavy or bulky items a handheld scanner, wired or wireless, is more practical as a second device at the till. Many checkouts use both together.
Does a desktop scanner read codes from a phone?
Yes, 2D models read QR codes and barcodes shown on a phone screen, for example coupons and loyalty cards.
